Furina Guide: Optimal Builds for Genshin Impact’s Hydro Archon
Furina, a 5★ Hydro Sword character in Genshin Impact, excels in providing off-field damage, beneficial effects for the whole team, and has unique ways to manage team HP. As the Hydro Archon, she shines even in a support role, and her abilities dictate how her team is formed. This guide will cover Furina’s optimal builds, weapons, artifacts, and team compositions.
FURINA PLAYSTYLE
Role: Off-field Support / Sub-DPS (On-field DPS at C6)
Elemental SKILL [E] :
Fontaine’s lore introduces two arkhe alignments: Ousia and Pneuma. Most Fontaine characters have one of these. However, our Archon Furina can switch between both with her Charged Attack.
Ousia-Aligned Skill
Summons Salon Members (Octopus, Seahorse, Crab) to deal off-field Hydro DMG.
Consumes teammates’ HP while each summon applies Hydro and damages enemies, more damage when party members have more than 50% HP.
Hydro Particle generation on hit (2.5s cooldown)
Summons target the same enemy as the active character and follows around the character.
Attack frequency varies among summons (Seahorse > Octopus > Crab), while Crab has the highest damage and HP drain.
Pneuma-Aligned Skill
Summons the Singer of Many Waters, a stationary healing aura that restores HP based on Furina’s Max HP.
Does not deal damage or apply Hydro.
Can be re-positioned with Furina’s Charged Attack.
Heals the on-field character every 2s within a large range, indicated by a water ring.
Tip: Casting either Skill lets Furina walk on water—handy for exploring Fontaine’s areas!
Elemental Burst [Q] :
Deals AoE Hydro DMG and grants Universal Revelry:
Deals a burst of Hydro DMG to nearby enemies (weak Hydro application).
Activates Fanfare, which accumulates points whenever party members lose or gain HP.
As Fanfare points go up, your team’s DMG Bonus and Incoming Healing Bonus rise.
At C0, can stack up to 300 points → up to +75% DMG and +75% Healing.
No snapshotting means your DPS continuously benefits the moment you gain more Fanfare points.
Talent Level Priorities
Priority | Reason |
1.. Elemental Skill [E] | Main source of damage + healing basis |
2. Elemental Burst [Q] | Massive team DMG% & healing buff. Level to at least 9. |
3. Normal Attack [NA] | Not crucial unless aiming for C6 on-field DPS build. |
Recommendation: Skill (E) ≥ Burst (Q) >>> Normal Attack (NA)
Passive Talents
A1 Passive (“Endless Waltz”) :
Furina will heal a nearby party member for 2% of their Max HP once every 2s within the next 4s, if “overflowing” heals occur. Typically requires another big healer so you can exceed a character’s max HP threshold to trigger it.
A4 Passive (“Unheard Confession”) :
Boosts DMG and Healing of Furina’s Skill based on her Max HP (up to 40k HP).
Utility Passive :
Reduces underwater ability cooldown in Fontaine, making exploration easier.
Constellation Overview
Furina is fully functional at C0, but each constellation adds noticeable perks.
Constellation | Effect | Benefit | Damage Upgrade |
C1 | Instantly grants 150 Fanfare points & raises max Fanfare limit by 100.
| ~37.5% DMG Bonus on Burst cast | 112.13% |
C2 | 2.5× faster Fanfare stacking.
| Rapid DMG buff ramp-up | 155.26% |
C4 | Reduces ER requirements (makes rotations smoother). Encourages full HP% build. | Easier Burst uptime
| 188.10% |
C6 | Grants Hydro infusion on Normal/Charged Attacks + party healing while on-field | Converts her into a main DPS | 255.33% |
C1 & C2 for off-field synergy; C6 for unlocking on-field DPS.
Artifact Setup
Core Stats: HP%, Crit Rate/DMG, ER%. Aim for enough ER to keep her Burst on cooldown (~160% at C0).
Slot | Main Stats |
Sands | HP% or ER% (depending on your needs) |
Goblet | HP% (ideal) or Hydro DMG Bonus |
Circlet | Crit Rate / Crit DMG (HP% is okay if substats are godly) |
Substats Priority: Crit DMG ≥ Crit Rate > HP% > Energy Recharge
Artifact Set Choices
4pc Golden Troupe
Best for off-field DPS via Salon Members. Furina’s Summons do the bulk of her damage, and Golden Troupe significantly boosts Elemental Skill DMG.
4pc Tenacity of the Millelith
More of a support-oriented set that gives ATK buff to the team. Salon Members can keep triggering its effect.
Weapon Choices
Weapon | Highlights | Damage Upgrade |
Splendor of Tranquil Waters (R1) | Massive Crit DMG (88.2%); supercharges both Furina’s damage and synergy with HP% buffs | 123% |
Festering Desire (R5) | Great if you have seen Albedo in action. Adds ER% and Skill DMG% | 110% |
Primordial Jade Cutter | High Crit Rate + 20% HP. Helps with Fanfare-based healing & damage. | 109% |
Light of Foliar Incision | Great CD Stick (88.2%); Grants additional skill damage based on EM | 105% |
Key of Khaj-Nisut | Provides HP% for Furina + partywide EM buff. Great for reaction-heavy teams (Vap/Bloom). | 103% |
Fleuve Cendre Ferryman (R5) | HP% substat + Skill CRIT Rate from the passive. (Fishing weapon in Fontaine) | 100% |
Wolf-Fang (R1) | Solid Crit Rate substat and Skill DMG bonus. (BP Reward) | 97% |
Mistsplitter Reforged | High Base ATK and Crit DMG. Requires stacking Elemental DMG for max passive (not always ideal on Furina) | 96% |
Black Sword | Crit Rate substat + some healing | 91% |
Harbinger of Dawn | CR is not stacking because HP is draining | 88% |
Favonious Sword | Great team battery & high ER% | 88% |
Dockhand’s Assistant | HP% substat. Increases Elemental Skill DMG. | 88% |
Blackcliff Longsword | Crit DMG substat. Passive requires defeating enemies for stacking. | 85% |
Team Synergy
Furina can function in various team comps, but a dedicated healer is strongly advised at C0 to offset her HP drain and stack Fanfare faster. Her DMG buff from Burst applies to all Elements, so she’s flexible across reaction teams or mono-element lineups.
Hydro-Heavy Teams (Double/Triple Hydro)
| | FLEX/BUFFER | |
Examples: Furina + Kokomi/Yelan/Xingqiu + Anemo
Gains Hydro Resonance (+25% HP), lowers ER needs, and frees artifact slots for HP% or Crit. Perfect synergy to amplify Furina’s off-field damage.
Reverse Vaporize (Pyro DPS)
| | 👍 |
Examples: Furina + Hu Tao/Arle + Xingqiu/Yelan + Bennett
Pyro DPS drain (Hu Tao’s HP burn, for instance) + Bennett’s big heals = easy Fanfare stacks. Furina’s Summons can also Vaporize for extra damage.
Forward Vaporize
| | 👍 | |
Examples: Furina + Xiangling/Klee + Bennett + (Anemo buffer)
Furina’s off-field hits get Vaporized by your Pyro unit’s aura—massive boost to Furina’s personal DPS.
Quickbloom / Dendro-Electro Cores
| | | FLEX/BUFFER
|
Examples: Furina + Nahida/Baizhu + Cyno/Kuki + Flex
Slower Hydro app helps maintain Quicken aura. Meanwhile, HP drain from Kuki/Cyno fueling Fanfare is a perfect synergy.
Geo/Anemo “Hypercarry”
| | 👍
| |
Examples: Furina + Navia+ Benette + Xianyun
Example: Furina + Benette + Wanderer/Xiao + Faruzan (Anemo)
Furina’s universal DMG buff benefits raw damage dealers who don’t rely on reactions. They appreciate the extra party healing for survival while she’s off-field.
Freeze Teams
| | | Cryo Healer/Buffer |
Examples: Furina + Ayaka/Ganyu/Wriothesley + Cryo Healer/Buffer
Consistent, albeit slower, Hydro application to keep enemies frozen. Pair with Charlotte/Jean for big group healing to support Fanfare.
TL;DR
Furina’s Distinctive Mechanic: Balancing HP drain and healing is central to her kit. She’s incredible at pumping out off-field damage while juicing your team’s DPS with Fanfare-based buffs.
Healer Necessity: Unless you have C1 or a robust healing investment on Furina, do bring a solid group healer to keep everyone above 50% HP and to maximize the Summons’ damage.
Flexibility: She’s not element-locked for buffs, so any high-DPS carry—be it Pyro, Hydro, Electro, Anemo, or Geo—can make good use of her universal DMG boost.
Constellations: While fully functional at C0, going for C1/C2 significantly smooths out her ramp-up time and overall comfort. C6 transforms her entire playstyle into a potent on-field Hydro DPS.
In short, Furina is a powerful Hydro Sub-DPS and party buffer. She excels in many team setups thanks to her game-changing Fanfare buffs and dual Arkhe flexibility—plus, she literally walks on water, leaving Teyvat’s bridge builders out of business. Build her well, pair her with a capable healer, and watch your whole team’s damage flow in style!
